What is Offensive Waste?

It includes hygiene waste eg sanitary protection, nappies and incontinence pads. Also outer dressings and protective clothing, eg masks, gowns and gloves that are not contaminated with body fluids.

Does a business have to have a sanitary bin?

Are nappy bins a legal requirement?

The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 specify that all businesses must provide a suitable means for disposing of sanitary products in each ladies washroom.

The Environmental Protection Act 1990 - This legislation encourages employers to take responsibility to safely dispose and store all waste produced on their premises - including nappy waste.
